Dill Tea, The Natural Antacid

Dill tea made from crushed dill seed.

Dill has been used for centuries as a digestive aid, in part because it helps reduce the production of stomach acid. This makes it a natural antacid, and one without the potentially negative additives and side effects found in some over the counter and prescription preparations.

Dill tea is easy to make, and can provide quick relief. Since dill is also known to help reduce stress, it's a two for one solution in a cup.

Dill Tea Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1 Tablespoon crushed dill seed
  •  1-1/2 cups boiling water
  • You may add a sweetener, but use caution with honey.  Although honey is considered safe to treat acid stomach, it still has a relatively low pH at 3.2 to 4.5.
Dill Tea Directions:
  1. Pour boiling water over crushed dill seed and let steep for 10 minutes.
  2. Strain and drink slowly.
  3. This tea can be consumed twice daily.
Once you realize how beneficial dill can be, you may want to use it in other recipes or even grow it yourself.  Either way, enjoy exploring the wondrous world of herbs.
